Let’s dive into the essential advice you need for a seamless move.

Tips for Move Day:

Start Early

Moving requires careful planning, and starting early is essential. Begin by creating a detailed moving timeline. This should include tasks such as decluttering, packing, and hiring a moving company. Starting early gives you ample time to tackle each task efficiently.

Declutter Your Belongings

Before packing, go through your belongings and declutter. Donate or sell items you no longer need. A lighter load will make your move easier and cheaper.

Hire Professional Movers

Choosing the right moving company is crucial. Research and read reviews to find a reputable one. Professional movers ensure the safe and efficient transport of your belongings.

Pack Strategically

Pack room by room, labelling each box with its contents and destination. Use quality packing materials to protect fragile items. Consider creating an essential box with items you’ll need immediately upon arrival.

Notify Important Parties

Don’t forget to notify important parties of your move. Update your address with the post office, banks, and subscription services. Inform friends and family as well.

Prepare for Moving Day

On the day of the move, ensure your home is ready. Disconnect appliances, disassemble furniture if necessary, and keep important documents and valuables with you.

Stay Hydrated and Take Breaks

Moving can be physically demanding. Stay hydrated, take regular breaks, and don’t overexert yourself. It’s essential to maintain your energy levels throughout the day.

Be Flexible

Moving day can be unpredictable. Be prepared for delays or unexpected challenges. A flexible mindset will help you adapt to any situation.

Conduct a Final Check

Before leaving your old home, conduct a final walkthrough. Ensure all doors and windows are closed, utilities are turned off, and nothing is left behind.

Familiarise Yourself with the New Area

Upon arriving at your new home, take some time to explore the neighbourhood. Locate essential services like grocery stores, hospitals, and schools.

Conclusion

Moving day doesn’t have to be a daunting experience. By following these expert Tips for Move Day, you can ensure a smooth and successful transition to your new home. Remember to plan ahead, stay organised, and stay flexible. With the right preparation, you’ll be settling into your new home with ease.

Second time I've used White Rose. First class service, friendly and helpful guys and looked my stuff well. They did my move over 2 days during the hottest days of the year so all credit to them. I would definitely use White Rose again if needed and would recommend them.

I am wholly satisfied by their work, packing and moving all my furniture and effects. Every member of the team worked efficiently, and they were all a pleasure to have around. I’m hoping never to have to move again, but if I do I’d book White Rose again without a doubt.

Could not fault! After trying a couple of local firms for quotes I was sold after speaking with Paul on the phone. His customer service was second to none. The actual move itself was seamless, the boys arrived early and were loaded so quick considering the heat! They worked tirelessly at both ends of the job. Massive thanks- especially working so hard in the heatwave we’re experiencing.

White Rose just helped us move from London to Yorkshire, last minute, with a newborn and a cat. They were exceptional from start to finish and really helped put our minds at ease throughout.A quick quote with a thorough breakdown of how things would play out, constant communication in the build up and the team doing the move were brilliant — they took absolute care over every detail of our stuff, professional, polite, funny. The whole thing was made so much easier thank to them. I would highly recommend them for your move.

From initial contact with Paul to the delivery of the contents of our house the service provided was excellent. This was a very challenging move as the destination was fairly inaccessible and had to involve a shuttle from the main road to the house on a hill. The 1st van got stuck in mud and they had to push it out before being able to continue. Jake went above and beyond when he chased our escapee chow chow a mile round the streets and across a busy main road until final capture involving outdoor workmen. Respectful, polite, efficient, hard working with a can do attitude at a competitive price what more does a customer need at this most stressful of times! Wishing you all the very best for a successful 2022!
